The Daily Dot describes itself as "The Hometown Newspaper of the World Wide Web" and everyone is intrigued by what exactly that means. The new startup aims to cover what happens on the Internet in the same way that local newspapers cover what happens in small towns. Most people seem to agree that it's a nice enough idea, but that the hometown newspaper metaphor is a bit of a stretch.
Media News Group will combine 11 of its daily newspapers in the San Francisco Bay area into two to save money. Fewer newspapers brands will result in fewer jobs. The Bay Area News Group, a division that operates the affected newspapers, expects to reduce a staff of 1,500 by about 8 percent, or 120. An office in Walnut Creek, Calif., will close.

No more facebook is about peeking into other people's lives, poking, uploading pictures, and expressing irrelevant emotions to so-called friends but it is a gaming platform, business platform and is also helpful in E-commerce.
To make it more exciting, the US media company Miramax has now launched the new movie rental facebook Application in beta in US, UK and Turkey.
The movies can be enjoyed by paying a rental and the process is quite easy and satisfying. Simply go to the facebook page and you can start viewing five minutes movie clips and then select one from the list. Although right now only 20 movies are available.
To name a few, movies like From Dusk till dawn, Good will Hunting and No country for old men are included in the list of 20 movies. To watch a movie, user has to buy facebook credits to activate the rental button and renting a full movie would cost 30 credits for £1.80.

Miramax announced recently that it is partnering with Facebook to launch Miramax eXperience, an app that will allow users worldwide to watch films clips and feature-length movies, play games, and share the experience with your Facebook friends
Initially, the beta app will offer rental video-on-demand for 30 Facebook credits ($3), the rental remains active for 30 days after purchase but the viewing window to watch films is 48 hours once you start the movie.
The Miramax experience allows you to watch films on multiple devices, including your PC, iPad, and Google TV. The ultimate goal is to give consumers the opportunity to buy films and store them in their own cloud-based digital locker. Then access the content anywhere they want, across devices to watch films.
