Blue Ray players are similar to DVD players in how they function and operate. However, blue ray technology is more powerful, and it is the newer format compared to the old DVD format. DVDs were introduced in 1997 and introduced digital audio and video to homes worldwide, whereas blue ray was only introduced in 2006. Blue ray discs can store up to 27 GB, or gigabytes, of data but DVDs can only store up to 4.7 GB. Due to its higher storage capacity, blue ray discs can play high definition movies that have clearer images and sounds. A typical DVD can only store about 2 hours of a standard definition film. However, a blue ray disc can store 2 hours of high definition film.

The Daily Dot describes itself as "The Hometown Newspaper of the World Wide Web" and everyone is intrigued by what exactly that means. The new startup aims to cover what happens on the Internet in the same way that local newspapers cover what happens in small towns. Most people seem to agree that it's a nice enough idea, but that the hometown newspaper metaphor is a bit of a stretch.
Media News Group will combine 11 of its daily newspapers in the San Francisco Bay area into two to save money. Fewer newspapers brands will result in fewer jobs. The Bay Area News Group, a division that operates the affected newspapers, expects to reduce a staff of 1,500 by about 8 percent, or 120. An office in Walnut Creek, Calif., will close.
