asterix611Whitney Houston passed away on Saturday, 11February, but not without completing Sparkle, a new film through which she was once again going to embark upon her acting career.
In this new film, the pop-Diva plays the role of a mother of three sisters in a musical group. The three sisters are dealing with issues like fallout from fame and drugs. Sparkle, inspired by the Supremes, stars actors like Jordin Sparks, Cee Lo Green, Mike Epps and Derek Luke.
This new film has two songs recorded by Houston in it. One of the two songs is sung by her on camera in the film. The other song of this musical film is a duet with Jordin Sparks, her onscreen daughter. This will be played over the closing credits. Earlier tragic Aaliyah was to play her daughter in this new film, but the singer died in a plane crash in 2001.
Houston had been working on this soon to be released film for more than a decade. With her gone, this new film gathers more clout and is becoming a promising watch for her fans. Presently Sparkle is in the post-production phase, as per Sony Pictures executives. It will hit the cinemas this summer.
